TCE Lead Stylist's 3 Spring Must-Haves
Transitioning your winter wardrobe into springtime can be difficult. All our jackets are too thick, and our shirts are too muted. Here are a few of my spring must-haves that make moving into the warmer weather a bit easier.
1. Spring Must-Have: Maxi Skirts
Say bye to mini skirts and say hello to maxi. They are trending now more than ever for the right reasons. They are comfortable, flowy, and easy to wear with endless styles and colors that can be worn by all body types. Maxis are the perfect versatile item to add to your wardrobe.
PLEATED MAXI SKIRT // BANANA REPUBLIC
Pleated maxi skirts can be dressed up in many ways, such as adding layers for transitioning from the colder weather. With a sweater, blazer, or button-up on the top and some booties on the bottom, you are all set.
Maeve Silky Pleated Skirt // ANTHROPOLOGIE
You can spice up a basic tee this spring with a bold pop of color or a fun pattern on your maxi skirt. This is a great way to make your wardrobe a little more unique and youthful.
MODERN CITIZEN // Keira Ribbed Knit Skirt
Knit maxis are the best way to put comfort first. They can even be dressed with chunky jewelry and a pair of heels or flats. But be careful with how soft and stretchy they are. It’s hard to want to wear anything else.
J.CREW // GWYNETH SLIP SKIRT
Silk slip maxis are effortlessly elegant. Their versatility can't be overlooked, dressing them down with a simple t-shirt or dressing them up with a nice blouse. Silk maxis are a great essential piece to own.
NORDSTROM // MADEWELL Gingham Tiered Linen Blend Maxi Skirt
Nothing screams summer more than ruffles. Ruffled maxi skirts are feminine and playful but still very casual, perfect for a beach day or a picnic in the park.
2. Spring Must-Have: Linen Blazers
Make layering exciting this spring with blazers, specifically linen blazers. They are perfect in-between jackets that can be styled in countless ways. Linen is naturally breathable and timelessly chic.
BANANA REPUBLIC // LONG AND LEAN LINEN-BLEND BLAZER
Be bold this spring with a pattern. Having a unique design on your linen blazer can be a statement piece to your outfit.
J.CREW // Parke blazer in stretch linen
Play it safe with simple colored linen. You can never go wrong with neutrals. They are casual and give your outfit a relaxed look.
J.CREW // Bristol blazer in stretch linen
Dress up a linen blazer with statement embellishments or colors. Those little details make a huge difference. Having gold buttons take you from off the beach to the workplace.
Old Navy // Double-Breasted Linen-Blend Suit Blazer for Women
Linen blazers can be worn with many different bottoms. Wear them casually with jeans or achieve a chic formal look with a good pair of slacks.
CUYANA // Linen Relaxed Blazer
Linen blazers come in all shapes and sizes. Play around with different silhouettes and styles, like this wrap-around blazer with a belt.
3. Spring Must-Have: WIDE-LEG TROUSERS
Don't want to wear jeans this spring and summer? Trousers are your best friend. Like jeans, they come in many styles, fabrics, and colors, all with more comfort. Trousers can also be dressed up or down, making them a perfect choice for any event.
BANANA REPUBLIC // LIDO WIDE-LEG ITALIAN WOOL PANT
Wide-leg trousers have been trendy for a while now and aren’t going anywhere this spring. Giving you a relaxed, comfortable bottom that leaves you with no restrictions. Having a wider leg makes your waist look smaller and your legs longer, giving you a flattering silhouette.
EVERLANE // The Linen Way-High® Drape Pant
Linen trousers are no different from linen blazers. They are breathable, comfortable, lightweight, and chic all in one. Perfect for the warmer weather.
BANANA REPUBLIC // RYAN STRAIGHT PANT
Straight-leg trousers are perfect for a more polished and sleek look, pair them with heels, and you're ready to concur the day.
NORDSTROM // FAVORITE DAUGHTER The Favorite Pant Pleat Pants
Dress up your trousers with a pleated waist. This detailing gives you a more work-ready sophisticated look. Just make sure to tuck in your shirt when you are wearing pleated trousers so you can show them off.
EXPRESS // Editor Mid Rise Relaxed Trouser Pant
Jump into the spring colors with bold trousers. This is an easy way to add color to your outfit without having to think too hard about it. Keep it safe with a neutral top or have fun with colors and have a color block moment.
