QUESTIONS ABOUT ALL THE SERVICES
A: The Closet Edit Services give clients results because we start at the heart of it all, in your closet. To move forward, your stylist needs to see where you are at, to take your look to the next level. Personal style is also a mix of the parts of you that have opinions on things you like and don’t like, what you’re drawn to, and don’t ever end up wearing. Starting with a (Virtual or In-Person) Closet Edit for an hour or a Style Regroup session will help your stylist make a plan and get everything you need to build a wardrobe that truly reflects you. That is why the Style Regroup and (Virtual or In-Person) Closet Edit are built into each styling package.
A: After the Style Regroup session or the (Virtual or In-Person) Closet Edit, your stylist will have a good idea of your lifestyle, body shape, and what to look for and avoid. There are a lot of elements that go into play on what you will like. The clothing your stylist chooses for you is based on all that criteria and more to show you pieces that have potential. In the virtual and in-person sessions, your stylist helps you decide what to buy and what not to buy. The goal is ONLY to purchase pieces you feel so good in you want to wear again and again. If you haven’t shopped in a REALLY long time, adjusting to some of the new styles might take a little bit longer to talk through and make sure you feel comfortable. There is NEVER any pressure to buy or keep anything. You feel like you’re shopping with a best friend who knows a lot about finding the best pieces for you and is totally honest.
A: Yes! I’d say I work with equal amounts of both. Each client shops differently (men usually wear their clothes to death, then come back a few years later and need to do it all over again), and women come back every few months to get more pieces to keep their wardrobes fresh. Most men are very ‘functional’ when they think of fashion as, “why is that pocket there?” Where women like the subtle details without much question. At The Closet Edit, we have experience recommending the right fit and pieces to suit your body and lifestyle.
A: The styling process is a lot about listening and understanding who you are, what you like, don’t like, what your life is like, what you like or don’t like about your body, and so much more. We have not had a problem in 14 years with a client not wanting to buy anything or like anything that was picked out for them. Our stylists know the brands, stores, and styles so well, and when we meet with clients, we start piecing ideas together to help bring out the best in you. When we shop, you get to see all the pieces we intentionally chose for you, with all of what you are looking to achieve with your style in mind.
A: No. At The Closet Edit, we give you results where you feel like you got a full service from beginning to end. A la carte is something we did in the past, and clients enjoyed it, but we knew they wanted just a bit more. The packages you see on the website have been created to give you exactly what you need to update your wardrobe, wear all the pieces, and leave you without any doubt about your purchases.
A: There is SO much you learn along the way. Our virtual and styling services are NOT like our workshops, where I teach you step-by-step how to go through the process, but you learn whether you want to or not. As you go through your closet, you learn about WHY you wear some things and not others. During the shopping, you learn about new brands, stores, colors, and styles that work for you. There’s also excitement in discovering new styles you would have never tried on before. After getting your outfits, you learn how different colors or textures mix together. Fashion is a visual process, and when we work together, you learn a lot along the way. You are also equipped with special bonuses like organizing your closet, tucking in your shirts, and so much more! The goal is for you to get a complete service from beginning to end.
1.) Open the link from the email I sent you with the button to view your finds or virtual closet.
2.) Look at the options below to see how to add the ‘Hue and Stripe’ app to your Android or IPhone
Q: Can you explain to me the 3 sections of the Hue & Stripe App?
Closet
Here you’ll upload pictures of your clothing individually from your closet. You can hang items on the door or lay them flat on the floor. Make sure there is good lighting. If it’s hard to see the color, under LABEL you can write what color it is or what brand the item is to keep track.
Finds(this won’t show up on the app until we start using it)
Here you’ll find online shopping suggestions that I send you. You can click on the photo of the item you want to purchase and it’ll send you directly to the store's website. You can also leave comments of what you like, or don’t like about the item, and add what you purchase to your closet by clicking the hanger icon on the bottom right-hand corner of the photo.
Lookbooks(this won’t show up on the app until we start using it)
All your outfits are stored here. If there’s a piece you’d like to see more outfits with, click the item and you’ll see all the outfits I put together with that one item.
Upload New Purchases:
As you get new items, take photos and upload them! This will help you keep inventory of your closet and keep me up to date with your closet for future sessions together.
Closet Online Try-Ons:
In the Closet tab, there is an “Online Try-Ons” section. Upload pieces you try on here, and I will say either keep them or return them.
Virtual Closet Outfits:
In the Closet tab, there is an “Outfits” section. You can create your own outfits, take a photo, and post them here.
Photo Tips:
Take pics of the clothing on the floor or hang the items up on the door, make sure the lighting is good.
Photo Comments:
Leave comments on what you love about the items if you’d like.
QUESTIONS ABOUT VIRTUAL STYLING
We don’t work for any brand, so we get to shop everywhere! There’s no limit as long as it fits your budget, personal style, and body. I would say we DON’T shop at Target, Zara, Forever 21, or those cheap TikTok/Instagram stores with something Chic in the name. When you hire us, you are looking for quality pieces that will last and fit next season. We start at mid-range brands like J Crew, Banana Republic and up from there to Rag and Bone, All Saints, and then up to designers like Gucci and Chanel.
A. Great Question! They both take about 1 month to 3 months to complete. It depends on how quickly you want to go through the process. In The Full Edit, there are 2 rounds of shopping, and in The Complete Edit, there are 3 rounds of shopping. Some clients like some time in between for us to decide together what to keep, and some clients like making their own decisions and are ready to schedule the next round of shopping ASAP. It’s really up to you how long you want to space out sessions and how much or how little you want your stylist in the decision-making process with you.
QUESTIONS ABOUT IN-PERSON STYLING
