Finding Flattering Maternity Wear *Without* the Frills

Finding Flattering Maternity Wear *Without* the Frills

Maternity clothes seem to champion some of the most unflattering items I’ve ever seen. No, I don’t want bows on my belly or big dots on my shirt. As a stylist, I’m super picky about my purchases. I’m all about building my wardrobe with items that make me feel powerful, feminine, and put together. No matter what size I’m wearing or what’s going on, I want to feel confident when I step out the door.

What to Store for Fall

What to Store for Fall

I love to put away my summer pieces to make room for all the layers and cozy styles for fall. It's a way to say goodbye to one season and open up another for new adventures and possibilities. I started doing this 8 years ago after opening up my consignment shop. I saw the importance of keeping what you need in reach and putting away what you didn't need at the moment. This created room for the new items coming in and it also wasn't practical to have everything out that clients weren't going to purchase anymore.

The New 'Mom Style'

The New 'Mom Style'

When you think 'Mom Style' you probably think BORING! That's because usually we are wearing clothing that is dated, stained, and doesn't fit right. And there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for that. Our bodies, lifestyle, and budgets have all gone through huge changes. Mom's rarely take the time to shop for themselves. Our kids are growing so fast and going through clothes at such a rapid pace, so it has been a while since we actually spent time and money on our own needs. We usually fit it in when we are doing a million other things for our family. (I think every mom has more than one thing they grabbed from the table at Costco while they were picking up their giant box of wipes and a rotisserie chicken.) And as a result, our wardrobes reflect that neglect.
