Highlights from TCE’s 14-Year Anniversary Party

Hosting The Closet Edit’s 14-year anniversary party and being in a room filled with people from my past and present was truly special. I loved celebrating with clients and business friends, and it took me a couple of weeks to take it all in. This party was a huge deal and was the first time I hosted something like this since I owned my store and office space in Ballard. We frequently threw parties, hired bands, had a food truck, and went all out. Planning this big event took time and effort. It was wonderful to see everyone having a great time and connecting with each other.

At The Closet Edit, our mission is to empower men and women by aligning their personal style with their goals. We believe that fashion can play a significant role in achieving self-confidence, which is crucial for success in one’s personal and professional life. As a personal stylist, I have helped numerous clients accomplish this journey and experienced this transformation myself.

When I started The Closet Edit at 22, I was young, had nothing to lose, and knew people needed help shopping. Over time, as my business grew, so did the impact I had on my clients. I still remember my first office space, empty for months because I couldn’t afford decoration or furniture. But it became the start of something big. Seattle Magazine featured me in a tutorial video on how to wear a scarf three ways, which led to Kristin, a neighbor and boutique owner, writing an article and filming another video. Since then, Kristin has become a client and Style Member, and I’ve watched her change careers, overcome hardships, and always stay stylish.

I felt excitement and emotion in the days leading up to my anniversary party. I have countless stories from the past 14 years and can’t wait to share them in a book someday.

WHY GO ALL OUT ON A 14-YEAR ANNIVERSARY PARTY VS. A 15-YEAR? THE IMPORTANCE OF MARKING MILESTONES

Reflecting on the past 14 years fills me with gratitude and excitement. 2023 has been one of the biggest blessings of my life, and I couldn’t be happier about the upcoming changes. My personal life is lining up in a new way as I combine families with my fiancé and get ready to tie the knot. I feel incredibly blessed to have found a partner who accepts me for who I am, both as a person and an entrepreneur with big ideas. Having a supportive partner makes being a business owner much easier, and I’m grateful daily for his love and encouragement.

On top of that, The Closet Edit has gone to a whole new level this year, helping change lives not only here in Seattle, WA, but all over the US and the world. We feel privileged to be part of other men’s and women’s journeys, helping them step into their power and shine. It’s been an incredible experience to watch our clients grow and evolve, and I’m proud of our impact.

So why celebrate our 14-year anniversary instead of waiting for our 15th year? For me, marking milestones is important, and every year in business is a unique achievement. While the 15th year may seem like a more significant milestone, every day, week, month, and year we’ve been in business is worth celebrating. It’s a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion we put into our daily work. We are grateful for every client, every experience, and every challenge that has brought us to this moment. And we can’t wait to see what the future holds as we continue to empower men and women through fashion.

ABOUT THE THEME: SHINE BRIGHT

At The Closet Edit, we believe that shining is not just a state of being – it’s a choice we make every day. When we show up in the world, looking and feeling our best, we have the courage to take risks, start conversations, and confidently pursue our goals. That’s why we centered our 14-year anniversary celebration around the theme of “Shine Bright.” We wanted to celebrate the power of fashion to transform how we feel about ourselves and the world around us.

Over the years, I’ve worked with clients from all walks of life, each with their unique story and style. And it’s been a joy to see how a simple style shift can make all the difference in how they show up in the world. When I shop with a client and find that one piece that fits them perfectly, I witness a transformation. I see the light in their eyes, the smile on their face, and the new power they’ve found within themselves. It’s a beautiful thing to witness.

When you start stepping into pieces that fit well and make you shine, you find yourself empowered to achieve big things. You develop newfound confidence allowing you to show up in the world how you want to. And that’s something that you can’t help but wear repeatedly, with pride and joy. At The Closet Edit, we’re proud to be part of that transformation in our client’s lives by helping them align their personal style with their goals. And we can’t wait to continue empowering men and women through fashion for years to come.

PARTY HIGHLIGHTS

Let me tell you, the party was an absolute blast! From seeing my clients shine in their outfits to sharing stories and making connections, the night was full of unforgettable moments. Did you attend the party? Click here to find yourself in the full photo gallery!

Here are just a few of my favorite highlights:

My uncle bought a suit for the occasion

This man supported me from day one when people doubted my ability to become a stylist or make it happen. He’s humble and loves sharing a story if you let him. He’s also super laid back in how he dresses; his vibes are a Seattle Tee shirt and shorts. Last year we went to a wedding, and he wore…..a tee and shorts. Anyway, he bought a suit at the event, and I was in awe! I didn’t ask him to, but it was for my wedding. Huge win!

Karaoke to Spanish Music

As the night progressed, we turned on some karaoke, and I saw clients go up and let loose, sing, and dance. Then I went up on stage and sang Selena.

Photo booth madness

Our photo setup was on point, which featured a “Let’s Party” light and a balloon fixture. Everyone had a blast posing and taking photos, making memories we’ll all cherish.

Pinterest-Worthy Dessert Table

I’ve always tried to create Instagram- and Pinterest-worthy moments. I finally succeeded with our dessert table at the party. It was beautiful and delicious, and I was so proud of pulling it off.

Seeing people connect

One of the most rewarding moments of the night was connecting and making new friends. I encouraged everyone to talk to someone new and try on a fun color. Seeing how our clients interpreted the “Shine Bright” theme in their outfits and conversations was beautiful. It was a joy!

The outfits

And, of course, we have to shout out to the outfits. People interpreted the theme in many ways. I LOVED seeing what everyone showed up in as they shared why they wore that outfit or piece. One client wore a dress that made her feel sexy that we purchased together; another wore a dress she loved that she found at Goodwill for $10, someone else wore an outfit from his lookbook that looked sharp, and I wore a modern version of my quinceanera dress that looked like Cinderella. It was a reminder that fashion is all about personal expression and empowerment.

Overall, our “Shine Bright” 14-year anniversary party was a huge success. We’re grateful to our clients, friends, and supporters who came out to celebrate with us. Here’s to another year of empowering men and women through fashion!
