Target designer collabs are the most fun to shop from! The latest is by CUSHNIE and Lisa Marie Fernandez. I actually had no idea CUSHNIE was going to be in the line up with Target when I wrote a blog post a couple of weeks back, My Favorite Fashion Brands Owned by Women of Color. So I was even more excited to try her pieces in my Target dress shopping haul. The versions for Target reflect both designers really well and overall I was impressed by the fit and style.

Target Dress Shopping Haul Part 1: CUSHNIE for Target

CUSHNIE is perfect for today’s modern woman and reflects elegance in minimal designs. Designer Carly Cushnie started her line in 2008 and wanted to create a fit that celebrated the female body. Influential women I look up to such as Michelle Obama, Beyonce, J Lo, Ashley Graham, and more have worn her pieces.

Two-Tone Slip Dress $50 CUSHNIE for Target

It’s fun, it’s easy to dress up or down. You can wear a long sleeve shirt underneath, wear a jacket over it, or wear it with sneakers. It’s also flattering on my body type because it’s not form-fitting or loose.

Leopard Print Wrap Slip Dress $40 CUSHNIE for Target

I feel sexy in this dress. I haven’t felt sexy since before I was pregnant, which was about a year and a half ago. It’s pieces like this that light you up and bring something out of you that you need in your closet during a Target dress shopping haul. Short dresses are not part of my style anymore, but this one is long enough where I feel sexy yet covered up enough. 

As I was filming I tried these on for the first time and I couldn’t tell how deep the neckline was and thought this could be work appropriate, but it’s definitely not!

Lisa Marie Fernandez is all about boho chic and glamour. She actually started out as a fashion editor then became a swimwear designer, and now she creates the perfect travel wear that reflects her own style. If you look up #LMFGirlsOnHoliday you can find influencers that wear their pieces on vacation too. 

Women’s Ric Rac Dress $45 Lisa Marie Fernandez for Target

It’s cute; maybe too cute. For summertime, it’s nice to have more casual dresses to wear for hot days. This dress looks lightweight, but it’s actually quite heavy. It has a lining that adds bulk to it, which I didn’t love, so it’s not one I’d wear often. 

Gingham Puff Sleeve Shirt Dress $50 Lisa Marie Fernandez for Target

Not an item I would normally wear or pick out for myself but thought I’d try it during my Target dress shopping haul. Can you believe I loved it? Maybe it’s because I’m a mom now, or maybe it’s because life is getting really casual, but I could see myself wearing this often. It’s appropriate to wear to work, go run errands, and play with the baby. It’s a 3-in-1 and for me, it’s totally worth it. I also love the color, pockets, and how lightweight it is.

Polka Dot One-Shoulder Dress $45 Lisa Marie Fernandez for Target

This was also a surprise but it works because the fabric is lighter and it drapes nicely. I wish it could be a piece I could wear to work too because it’s really comfortable and stylish. There’s too much skin showing on one side.
